NSPM 33 & CHIPS in Science Act

NSPM 33 and the CHIPS and Science Act  have requirements for Research Security. 

The National Security Presidential Memorandum 33 (NSPM 33) includes requirements for training and process in the following areas:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Foreign travel security
  • Research security training
  • Export control training
A yearly self-certification is required at the institutional level.

The Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) for America Fund and Science Act addresses mentor training and mentorship , training to raise awareness of potential security threats, and federal export control, disclosure and reporting requirements.
