ORCID iD
To meet the requirements of this NSPM-33 directive:
- Incorporation of Digital Persistent Identifiers (DPI) or Persistent Digital Identifiers (PDI) into grant and cooperative agreements, application and disclosure processes.
WVU will require the use of ORCID iD for PIs seeking or receiving federal funding
as the institutional DPI. The requirement will most likely begin in Q3 of
2024. Although t he guidance indicates that use of the DPI may be optional,
increasing requirements for DPIs in other policies, such the Chips and Science
Act and Public Access, WVU has opted along with many R1 peers to adopt, support
and require ORCID iD.
The Research Office is currently working with ITS and the Library on integration to reduce the burden of reporting employment information and tracking works.
